How Hair Transplant Works

Hair transplantation is a very easy procedure that is done on an outpatient basis.

During surgery a flap of scalp with healthy hair is extracted from the patients head. Then, the hair follicles are taken from the flap and inserted again into the area to be treated. The outcome is new, strong hair growth in the area where the follicles where implanted. Each hair is carefully implanted in order to follow the hair's natural growth pattern and avoid unnatural looking results. Then the surgeon proceeds to suture and cover the area with a bandage.

In some cases more than one session may be needed depending on the patient's needs.

Results & Aftercare

Since the patient's own hair is used for hair transplant, results are natural looking.

After surgery there is virtually no downtime and there is very little need for special care. After surgery a bandage is placed on the patient's head to protect the area. This bandage is usually taken off a few days after surgery. The patient can resume their normal activities immediately and should just avoid heavy exercising and sun exposure. After surgery, the patient may take mild pain pills to treat any possible discomfort. About 7 to 10 days after surgery the surgeon will remove any stiches that remain.
